One of my favorite treats of all time couldn’t be more simple… Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!

Whenever I am in the mood for a treat I can never find something inside my house that I am interested in so the easiest but very delicious option is to make cookies! I find that making chocolate chip cookies is a great way to keep occupied while even having fun. Plus these cookies are much better than just buying any regular cookie at the grocery store. Making cookies at homes means you can have them fresh and gooey right when they come out of the oven.  There are so few and simple ingredients you need and then when you’re done all you have to do is pop them in the oven.

Below happens to not be a homemade recipe for chocolate chip cookies but a recipe that will make cookies taste just as good! These Betty Crocker cookies are sweet, warm, gooey and soft just like every cookie should be!


– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

– 1 cup butter or margarine, softened

– 1 teaspoon vanilla

– 1 egg

– 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

– 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions on making/ baking the cookies:

Step 1:  Heat oven to 375ºF.

Step 2: Mix sugars, butter, vanilla, and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

Step 3:  Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. (You want to make sure the cookies are not too close together otherwise they will stick to each other when baking and you will not be able to separate them.)

Step 4:  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly and then remove from cookie sheet. Place the cookies on a wire rack to cool.

Step 5: Eat and enjoy your delicious made cookies
